 The WACTC Graphic Design program provides students with the opportunity to explore their creativity while learning all the skills and tools to design and operate industry software and hardware in an ever-changing field. This program prepares students in many diverse areas. They will learn many of the Adobe CC applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Animate and more.

Qualified graduates will receive college credits.

1) The first set of branches is the Entry-Level Careers that students unlock by completing the Graphic Design Multimedia & Visual Arts program at WACTC. 

2) Students can unlock the next level, the Technical Careers, by pursuing additional education such as an associate’s degree, advanced certification, apprenticeship, or other specialized training.

3) They push their education even further with a bachelor’s, master’s, Ph.D., or specialized training, they can unlock the Professional Careers.

What Graphic Designers Do

Graphic designers create visual concepts, using computer software or by hand, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate consumers.

Work Environment

Many of these workers are employed in specialized design services, publishing, or advertising, public relations, and related services industries. 

How to Become a Graphic Designer

Graphic designers usually need a bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field. Candidates for graphic design positions should have a portfolio that demonstrates their creativity and originality.

Pay

The median annual wage for graphic designers was $50,370 in May 2018.
